Vitali Klitschko v Bermane Stiverne - who would have won?
Collapse

Stiverne could have beaten Vitali.. Obviously he didn't retire because of those things you mentioned, he retired because he knew David Haye would have beaten him. If you remember, he promised to fight the winner of Haye vs Chisora but as soon as Haye stopped Chisora then Vitali retired because he realized Haye would have beaten him.
It's a shame if you think about it, because it would have been right and honorable for the world of boxing to have a change of guard via the traditional route - with a champion losing his title to a challenger instead of this vacated belt because the contender made the champ retire instead of face him.
Just a shame it happened that way instead of the way it should have happened.
Bro... show me the footage of VITALI promising the fight, as far as I remember Boente just sort of said yeah yeah to the suggestion by Warren that winner of Haye v Chisora gets Vitali...
Vitali had/has better things to do than fight a guy already thoroughly outclassed by Wlad. I bet if he went through with the fight there would be more talk of Vitali taking care of Wlad's unfinished business by going for a KO win..
I really envisage Haye would have pulled out if that fight got made...he doesn't deserve the payday.Last edited by PainfromUkraine; 05-11-2014, 01:18 PM.Comment

Let's just say that anyone who disagrees with me is a troll. You guys are the real trolls because you've got a twisted version of the truth which doesn't correspond with reality. And the sad thing is that you actually know the truth but you call anyone who talks about the truth a "troll" so that it makes them appear less credible to the uninformed.
You know as well as I do that Vitali didn't want to fight Haye because he was scared of getting beaten by a fighter that was too fast and powerful for him.Comment

That's your opinion, you are welcome to it...although I don't see your basis for this. Triangle theories don't work - just because Haye beat Chisora more convincingly than Vitali doesn't mean he could do the same thing to Vitali. A fit, focused and hungry VK (despite the age) would simply use all his experience to outclass Haye...and don't get me wrong - this would be a dangerous fight, any fight at that age v speed and power is dangerous - and he probably did think to himself that it wasn't worth taking.Let's just say that anyone who disagrees with me is a troll. HOWEVER - NEVER did VITALI HIMSELF say that he would promise that fight. BOENTE suggested it, and there was noise that it was actually HE that didn't want it to be made, but Vitali did. After that, some little injuries, politics, and a lack of being able to deal with Haye meant the fight couldn't happen.
However...just because you have one belief about that fight cos you are a Brit or Haye fan isn't neccesarily the right one...as I say, show me proof that Vitali promised that fight, then you have a true basis to say he avoided it. Wasn't like Haye was some guy that was beating all contenders and deserved a shot....he wasn't even ranked in the WBC (as far as I remember). Possibly he was just getting a taste of his own medicine, and Vitali just didn't have the motivation to take that fight in the end, coupled with his handlers perhaps blocking it from happening. In no way can you really call this a duck though.Comment

Vitali signed for the fight twice and Haye pulled out.
It's comical for anyone to say that Vitali avoided the fight.

The fact that you honestly believe that someone as great as Vitali would ever duck a fighter like David f'n Haye is completely asinine. Haye isn't even half the fighter Wlad is yet you think Vitali was afraid of him? Utterly laughable.Comment
