Why isn't Ward making a play for the July date?

    Quack, quack?

Yeah, more money in those fights. As I said, GGG is not looking to dispute Ward's claim as best SMW in the world. He's just arriving on the big stage: Ward is high risk-low reward, Kessler and Chavez are not. I'm not saying Kessler would be an easy fight, but definitely more interesting at this point then Ward.

I means seriously... Why in the world would GGG risk his current popularity fighting a technically excellent guy with an ugly and akward style, who never comes out of his backyard, has little to no following, and who nobody except hardcore boxing fans know? Why would he?

Especially knowing that he can still do that in two years time...

Two look to be getting back in the ring, one looks to stay out of it

"Golovkin’s built his reputation on saying he’ll fight anybody. I raise my hand and say I’m somebody. Let’s do it. [But] nothing. And then they circumvent and try to go to Chavez. First they said we’re going to stay at 160 and clean it out. Then Chavez fell through and now it’s something else,” Ward would tell BoxingScene and other members of the media.

Andre Ward may not have fought in the ring since November of last year but he’s still been fighting outside of it trying to break free from his current promoter Goossen Tutor. There is a pending lawsuit filed in the California Superior Court and while both sides had agreed to continue working together during the proceedings, no fights have been made. When looking at Ward’s options, some have said a move to Light Heavyweight is the next logical move as many feel Ward has exhausted his options at Super Middleweight. But Ward points to the fact that the options are even more limited 7 pounds north.

And who wants to fight Ward anyway -- I see nobody (except for Sad Chad, who was badly confused at that time)...

The man takes all of your weapons away then beats the fight out of you - learn the sport you guys claim to love, I think you guys like street fighting where there is usually a bully(GGG) and someone who has heart but knows he cannot win, so he just lays down eventually - GTFOH

Look: nobody wants to fight Golovkin at 160, as nobody wants to fight Ward at 168... In order to fight Ward eventually, GGG has to take a solid tune up at 168... Golovkin is not as ****** as Sad Chad -- I guess.

Did Kessler or his team make a move to secure the fight? Or was it Golovkin's team that approached them?
