If the fighters are all about the money, I guess it follows that their fans would be as well.
I mean, we got people who are fans of TMT and put it in their signatures and such. The discussions about money and figures is merely a by product of the fighters' emphasis on it. It's not really a big deal though, go to basketball forums and they're talking about the salaries and players' endorsement deals. On soccer forums talking about their clubs balance sheets, team payroll, and funds available for the transfer window
The business of boxing drives what fights get made, where they get made, what network will show it, whether it will be on PPV and whether the sport is still popular enough to get on network TV again.
AccountingScene, that's funny. One thread on the front page about PPV numbers (well 2 now since you decided to make a thread) and apparently it's all that's being talked about. Does this thread have anything to do with Pac-Bradley numbers being underwhelming?
I'm fairly confident if Dan Rafael wrote that Pac-Bradley II did 2M PPV buys this board would be filled with threads about how big a draw Pac is.
It's all about perspective and I actually bought the Pac-Bradley fight. Too bad more people didn't buy it, they missed a great fight.
Another genius. I don't give a f-ck about accounting. Why would I care about Pac-Bradley numbers.
Surprisingly enough some people do find sports business an interesting topic in general, they can find that topic interesting and also enjoy the sports. Boxing is a crazy sport that is almost like looking into a time portal, so it is pretty interesting as **** is always going down.
I also don't understand about caring about more aspects of the sport makes anyone less of a fan.
Now if you want to talk about a lack of insightful debate on the matter, that is different matter.

no one is less of a fan. But if you enjoy talking about numbers you should go post on a microsoft excel spreadsheet forum.
