We've always known Floyd was tough, he rematched Castillo after the first fight, the way he was walking Mosley down at the end of the same round he was hurt in and how he stood in front of Canelo all night.

I might be alone but I was surprised at how poorly he was dealing with the hard moments against Maidana, his constant complaints to the ref, his sheer panic at being cut, his excessive holding and his refusal to let go of the rope in the final round.

The way he came back in the round after the cut is what Floyds toughness is about, how he was for the duration of the 12 rounds actually surprised me the other way, in that I thought Floyd would deal with these things better.

Mayweather fans, it was a poor performance from Floyd and a good one from Maidana which is why it was a close fight. These threads are designed to find something positive to take from that fight, he didn't look great or even good no matter how you try to spin it, just deal with it and move on.

Even though I'm not really a skeptic (I think FMJ is OOTBE one of the best ever defensively) I don't rate his toughness. This was not really a dog fight at all compared to some and I wasn't impressesed with how he handled a very average cut ( complaining he couldn't see for 2 rounds ) and excessive holding ( including ropes ). Compared to Marciano's split nose,Gatti v Ward and countless others his toughness is not that impressive although his skills are.
