Cotto isn't an easy fight for anyone and because of Martinez' possible ailments, he has a chance for the upset. I wouldn't bet on it though. Martinez is a big guy and the strongest Cotto has faced thus far. Add to that his speed and movement...it doesn't look good on paper.

Sergio has a 73" or greater reach. How much of a reach does Cotto have? The answer is 67".......that's a 6" reach advantage, half a damn foot. Come on man, Cotto will get caught with vicious uppercuts on the inside and he'll be eating Sergio's straight left at full extension and with leverage. Cotto's face is going to be the issue here, not Sergio's body.

Who cares how tall you are... Paul Williams had the same reach/height advantage on Sergio for their fight and look how that turned out. Willaims never used his reach/height to his advantage and neither will Sergio. It doesn't matter how long your arms are when they are at your side and you stick your face out. Reaction times are what Sergio lives off of like RJJ used to, the problem is he is 40 years old. Martinez also isn't some slick boxer like people keep making out to be, he backs STRAIGHT UP into the ropes all the time, and counters with power punches. At the end of the day I'll take the better technical fighter, over a 40 year with bad knees who fights with his hands down.

Roach is a smart man. Disinformation... This fight won't end or begin with body shots. They'll be part of Cotto's attack but they're going to try and use Sergios poor defense against him. I bet Martinez gets dropped with a jab in this fight... any takers?

Fighters do say lots of things like that, still if his knee is even remotely alright he will smash on Cotto in fact I think the knee may be more of an issue in chasing Cotto down to end the fight rather than effecting the normal flow of the fight.

Cotto has to get to the body first and that's risky and hard against a mover like Martinez.

Love Cotto to deaf, but Martinez is all wrong for him. He will be turning Cotto all night and cut him up with his one two combo. Even if Martinez is not 100% Cotto will have to fight the fight of his life to beat him IMO.
