Goosen also got him into the Super Six and got every fight except Froch in Oakland. After that Ward has either been hurt or suing. When he's actually been available to fight, he's suing.
If I remember correctly, Showtime wanted a fair share of fights in the states, which fell lucky on Ward because Dirrell was a man without a home. Not sure how much Goosen had to do with that, but won't discount it either.
Since Froch ,2011, he's fought twice. I know he's been injured after the Dawson fight, but he's also been fit to fight for a while - and if the fights aren't being offered, then the promoter is not doing his job properly.
At the end of the day, it's the fighter's career. He should be able to decide for himself which route he wants to go. I don't agree with all that bs dictatorship enforced by promoters.
Maybe he thinks he can get more fights/money elsewhere, and he's probably right - so why shouldn't he get an opportunity to explore that? So Goosen should either step up - or step down.

Goosen can't really be blamed for all that. He's done a good job for Ward considering his style and personality. Ward only wants out of his contract because he wants Chavez Jr., and Arum probably told him he'd only get that fight if he came to Top Rank.

He and HBO disagreed over his opponent to fight last year because Ward wanted that 2 million to fight a worse opponent than Edwin Rodriguez.

When Ward first talked about wanting to fight Chavez, going to Top Rank was the best way. Now that Chavez is leaving though, Ward doesn't need to go anywhere.
Unless he wants to jump to Showtime, in which case he'd have to join Golden Boy. And he simply doesn't have a case he can win which allows that. The more he fights, the longer he'll have to stay with Goosen.
