Usually if a fighter loses, the promoter has to option to drop the fighter altogether. Chavez getting 5 million in his next fight with a loss is generous as hell. Imagine if Golovkin gives Chavez a beating of a lifetime and whatever marketability Chavez once had completely disappears. 5 Million for his next fight no matter what happens in the Golovkin fight would be pretty sweet.

His last fight he was fighting in a half empty arena and HBO kept mentioning that. Still bigger draw than most but not pre-martinez big. Thats why i dont see why he doesnt take this deal and build back. It seems like a 2 fight deal with good pay but maybe there is something else

my bad went back to the article i saw from it says 6 million if over
300,000 ppvs and if got over 400,000 if he got 8 million.
