Arum has a contract up to 2015 but he wanted Chavez to sign for an extension only way they was going to make the GGG fight happen, but Chavez didnt fall for his tricks.

Sad. That's a good fight! High risk fight too considering that the loser will NEVER live this loss down....EVER! If it did happen i would not count Jr. out just as long as he seriously trained hard and is focused. Too bad.

Its quite clear in the article that Chavez is contractually bound w/ TR until the encd of Oct, 2015. That's technically 1 1/2 years from now. They supposedly offering another fight after GGG clash & I think there's nothing wrong w/ that since its with in the contract. Fight was on with or without extension as per this article. The issue that killed negotiation was the "undisclosed purse demand" from Chavez's team.

"And you have to ask, will we ever see Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in the ring again?"

A promoter has no say on who can manage a fighter. Haymon, can be there.

Chavez made the right decision. Arum tried to use the golovkin fight to make jr sign a garbage extension.and golovkin is'nt even promoted by toprank. To bad pacquiao's dumb ass couldn't do the same.

Thats according to Arum. If you have a fighter another yr and a half, it is completely unnecessary to say that you want another fight. Hell he wants another fight in that time. I'm not even sure they have him until 2015, we'll see though. Plus with Chavez adding Haymon, Arum's going to have to deal with a lot of this tip oct 2015
