Comments Thread For: Andre Ward on Facing Kovalev, Golovkin, More

Andre Ward may not have fought in the ring since November of last year but he’s still been fighting outside of it trying to break free from his current promoter Goossen Tutor.

There is a pending lawsuit filed in the California Superior Court and while both sides had agreed to continue working together during the proceedings, no fights have been made.

When looking at Ward’s options, some have said a move to Light Heavyweight is the next logical move as many feel Ward has exhausted his options at Super Middleweight. But Ward points to the fact that the options are even more limited 7 pounds north.

So Ward doesn't want to move up to 175 but expects Golovkin and Chavez Jr to move up? Ward needs to fight, period.

You could always move up and then move back down? Or does that make too much sense?

This isn't newsworthy anymore. It's the same thing being said for the last year, and it's the same carbon copy business stance that everyone's trying to do now. Yawn.

Why not meet halfway? 172 seems fair to me!

Golovkin vs Chavez was going to be at 168 and not 160 right?

                Tiresome listening to Ward.

Wins a medal at LHW, says he's bursting to move up, now claims he's not a LHW.

Pretending he wanted a Golovkin fight when he never once pursued it.

Has a promoter who brought him a long way who he signed an extension with, is now fighting him.

Going on about PPV like he's ever going to be a PPV fighter...

it's rarely, if ever done. fighter's go up in weight, not down. the only incentive would be a ton of money, and HBO just can't pay hiim much more for those fights than they can for edwin rodriguez. which would you do, and don't give me that "legacy" garbage that no fighter puts before making money.

the down time between fights, and then only bringing yourself to 175, could end forever the possibility of him making 168 again.

he'd be best served to fight 175 lbers while not letting himself weight in at too much more than 168. then, maybe, it would be possible.

whyt would he do it, though? legacy?

and you all know that the same king ward haters are going to discredit a win over anybody from kovalev to klitschko. when you're young, black, and good, there's envy.

Doesn't want to move up for one fight, criticizes others for the same thing

Argues that kovalev is network and not PPV so it's not worth it, same situation with ggg.
