    Career wise it does.

The guy still has to earn his stripes. He's not a HOF calibur fighter if he retires now or atleast not IMO.

Kovalev may not be worth the risk for the reward but legacy wise he should take that fight.

Hell, take any meaningful fight. He doesn't have one since 2011.

Countersue his promoter and get a new promoter and fight.

Career wise, his best move is to stay at 168lbs. Chavez Jr, Golovkin, Froch rematch. Even a Kessler rematch. All more lucrative than Kovalev.

He has plenty of time to go to 175 and the Kovalev fight gets bigger if he keeps blasting guys out. Legacy-wise and financially, it's not worth it right now.

I'm pretty sure it's Ward who is suing his promoter. These things take time.

A boxing career is short, Ward is wasting his prime, get a promoter, fight and deal with the consequences afterwards.

There is a pending lawsuit filed in the California Superior Court and while both sides had agreed to continue working together during the proceedings, no fights have been made.

When looking at Ward’s options, some have said a move to Light Heavyweight is the next logical move as many feel Ward has exhausted his options at Super Middleweight. But Ward points to the fact that the options are even more limited 7 pounds north.

168 is a hide out division. It always has been and always will be. It should have never been invented

              • also maybe he should of never left showtime, Tough to be a boxer right now unless you're a welterweight

                • Kovalev isn't going anywhere, after GGG's people step up and put him in there with Ward then a Ward-Kovalev fight will be much bigger

I'm not talking financially though. Of course everyone's first priority is money so I understand but he's wasting his prime years away.

Chavez Jr, Froch rematch, Kessler rematch. All good money but all 3 do nothing for his legacy.

Kovalev would do a lot or his legacy. I would be one of his best wins.
