So why can't ward go up to 175 for one fight and then come back down to 168?

I think it's clear to all that Ward is not giving any concessions on anything whatsoever. He'd rather sit around idle.

the down time between fights, and then only bringing yourself to 175, could end forever the possibility of him making 168 again.

he'd be best served to fight 175 lbers while not letting himself weight in at too much more than 168. then, maybe, it would be possible.

whyt would he do it, though? legacy?

and you all know that the same king ward haters are going to discredit a win over anybody from kovalev to klitschko. when you're young, black, and good, there's envy.
Why the **** does everything have to be about race? Aint got **** to do with race it's the fact that Ward wants to be a star but isn't doing anything about it. He isn't fighting enough and that's the end of it. If Ward wants to be great he has to move around in weight - all great fighters do it now. Otherwise he can just fade into obscurity fighting mediocre fighters once a year. If there isn't a challenge in your weight class you have to move weight - especially when you're 30 and the clock is ticking so that you don't have that much time to improve your legacy.

            I don't get it.

Floyd is a natural ww but he's went up to jmw 3 different times.

the only time he goes up is for a money fight(oscar, cotto, canelo)

Nobody is saying ward has to stay at 175. dude is wasting his prime.

Ward thinks he has the leverage of a Floyd Mayweather. The following stipulations has to be in the contract if Ward is to sign:

1: Fight must be staged in jOakland
2: Pursesplit must be no less than 80/20
3: All officials is to be appointed by Ward in coorporation with CSAC.
              4: No OST.
5: Fight must be at 168 lbs.
6: The opponent must be well enough known to 'do something' for Ward's career.

If the opponent can agree to this, the fight is on.

Boxing is a joke sport. All these fights, and none of them look as though they're going to be made. They're all ****ing cowards.

This ****ing coward won a medal at LHW. What a ****ing joke. Boxing fans need to really make their voices heard and let these cowardly rich boxers know just how COWARDLY they are. I used to respect Ward, but not anymore. Talking about how the Kovalev fight isn't a PPV attraction, so THAT'S why he doesn't want to fight him. Hilarious. Then he says even if he does fight him & beats him, people will just call Kovalev a one dimensional puncher hahahaha

                    Like a little ****ing girl.
