Help me remember, because I forgot. What top tier fighter did Maidana beat to get a shot at Floyd? Broner? help me out here

Sometimes it's not about ranking. In this case it's about beating a big name guy. The question is...what has Khan done lately? Molina, Diaz, Collazo...these are neither marquee names nor are they highly ranked. Even R. Guerrero's jump to welterweight, beating Berto in the process was more impressive than Khan's last three fights.

Khan is a good fighter and I want to see him fight Floyd. But if Mayweather is waiting until Khan does something impressive before giving him a shot then I really don't blame Floyd. I'm all for it. Then again Floyd is running out of opponents. If it happens, fine. If not, don't call it a foul.

Let's not get carried away here. Collazo was washed up. This does not mean Khan's not a good fighter, we just dont know. Fight Pacquiao, Bradley, Porter or Thurman before attempting the Mayweather sweepstakes.

Good win for Khan best he's looked years but it's over Collazo a 15-20 ranked WW who only had traction because he beat a heartless Ortiz.

If Khan can beat a top 5-9 WW (Thurman, Porter, Maidana, Abregu,Guerrero, even Alexamder or D.Garcia ) he earned his lottery ticket beating Collazo doesn't do it in my opinion.

I personally believe Khan should have to fight Guerrero Thurman..Good win for Khan to build on,not the win he needs to make me forget about his back to back losses and how he loss..Not to mention how he looked against Molina and Diaz..I need to see at least a win over a top 10 opponent within his div..Since being stopped,he has not beat a top 10 ranked opponent..I need to see this before getting behind a Khan fight..

I don't understand the need for Khan to go and fight mayweather right now.
He can easily squeeze in another with a good WW before May.

Floyd will most def rematch maidana in September, which was quite convenient as they had no one else lined up.

Khan should fight Guerrero or Alexander or Brook in November and then qualify for the Mayweather fight.
