Comments Thread For: Khan: I Said I'd Be Better at 147, I Want Mayweather

LAS VEGAS --- Amir Khan looked strong in his welterweight debut, knocking down Luis Collazo three times en route to a 12-round unanimous decision on the Mayweather-Maidana undercard on Saturday night at the MGm Grand.

"I had my first fight at 147 (pounds) after spending about 30 months out of the ring," Khan said. "I did feel a bit rusty. I did spend a lot of time in the ring with (trainer) Virgil (Hunter) and I can see how my style is changing. I always said I'd be a better fighter at 147 because I used to kill myself getting to 140."

I never thought I would say this, but Amir Khan is a formidable opponent for Floyd Mayweather. However, if Khan won't fight in September, then Floyd should fight, Cotto or Maidaina. Cotto would be my preference, but he has to beat Martinez first.

      Fight Keith Thurman.
Let's not get carried away here. Collazo was washed up. This does not mean Khan's not a good fighter, we just dont know. Fight Pacquiao, Bradley, Porter or Thurman before attempting the Mayweather sweepstakes.

@ the bold part. When it was actually Mayweather who put Khan into the "Mayweather sweepstakes". Remember????

          Khan looked great last night.

After watching Floyd decline in front of our eyes last night; I want to see the Khan fight.

I'm a huge Khan fan, wasn't thorough impressed by him last night.

The whole world new he was going to win that fight, I thought he did "fair."

And the chin got checked again last night, did anyone catch that? I think it was at the end of round 10 or 11, he a very short version of his trademark dance.

I think with Danny Garcia fighting in July and then again in November-December and Khan not fighting until that time too because of Ramadan, maybe GBP would make it a PPV fight and winner gets Floyd in May 2015!

                  Floyd has clearly declined

I dont think Floyd has enough pop to hurt Khan, especially since its 3 fights in a row where he has hurt his hand..

                  Khan is on the up...

                  Khan wins a UD IMO..

Never been a better time to fight Floyd.

Khan is ALL WRONG for Floyd...speed, jab, footwork, devastating body puncher, and now with the added tight defence, balance, and calmness, it spells disaster for Floyd

Khan has the potential to make Floyd look very old.
