I have to agree. Having a battle with Cotto, shutting down Canelo and beating Maidana in a tough tough fight did not hurt his rep, He looked like a warrior in there taking shots and going toe to toe.. if anything I say his stock went up especially to the casuals.. the rematch is going to be HUGE I bet it makes 1.5 mil.

I think Im done here... I came to the conclusion that according to the fans here Mayweather in a close fight = a loss. The standards are set that high for him he should be flattered.

Referee Vic Drakulich took a point away from Castillo for hitting on the break in the eighth round. In the tenth round, Drakulich deducted a point from Mayweather for using his elbows.
                The crowd booed the decision.
HBO unofficial scorer Harold Lederman had Castillo winning 115-111....

And of course Floyd won in the rematch; however the second fight can't hide the fact that Floyd lost in the first bout.
To me, the first Castillo fight is an example of Castillo winning the "fight", but not necessarily the boxing match. The rounds he won were more dominating than the rounds Floyd was awarded. That's one of the downfalls of the scoring system. You can outclass a guy in five rounds. And be slightly edged in seven razor thin rounds and lose the fight. I've consistently scored the first fight a draw or 7-5 Floyd win. Conversely, people like to say Floyd erased all doubt in the second fight. I disagree. I've consistently scored the rematch the exact same way I scored the first one. 7-5 Floyd or a draw. The only difference being Castillo didn't have the dominant rounds like he had in the first fight.

I never watch postfight interviews. But I've read Brian Kenny didn't think it was a close fight either. With he and Floyd's history, what's his agenda for a disgraceful scorecard? Y'all on here b1tchin' and moanin' cause y'all hate Floyd. Maidana fought a spirited fight and never allowed Floyd to get comfortable in there. But as far as doing things that actually win boxing matches. He pretty much didn't do ****.
Exactly lol! That dude is a ******** disgrace... Sucking Pac's dyck left and right but LYING like a mother****a like he is an objective fan. If you say anything bad about Pac this dude is here defending him. But dude is a straight hater period!

I also dont think pacquaio fought anyone like Floyd before, someone who can rival him speed even though Pacquiao is faster. I think Pacquiao is pretty predictable and the same qualites in Marquez that give Pacquiao trouble, Floyd presents those on a higher level. He would be tall, long, bigger, reach advantage and I believe he would limit Pacquiaos work rate, I dont think Pacquiao would go balls to wall against Mayweather and thats because of the respect he would have for him. Maidana had NO respect for floyd and Floyds toughest fights are against people who can bully him.. Castillio, Cotto, Maidana.. Pacquiao wouldnt have that advantage over Mayweather, I think it would have been a high speed chest match with a knockdown for Pacquiao and Mayweather coming on strong in the end.
Of course Manny hadn't fought anyone like Floyd before. But I don't think Manny is predictable at all. Rather, JMM is just tailor-suited to fight him. Also, THAT Pacquiao of Morales and Cotto's years, had respect for no one at all, he went out for the kill all night, non-stop and since Floyd didn't hit any harder than those guys (Barrera, Morales or Cotto), why exactly would Manny have any respect for him and stop being as naturally aggressive and predatory as he was? Just because JMM is naturally gifted to RELATIVELY figure out Manny --see the 4th fight, JMM was actually being destroyed, but he was able to land a couple of huge shots and won-- doesn't automatically mean that Floyd would be able to do the same as JMM could and did. That just doesn't hold any water.

If one goes by past-fight comparisons, Manny destroyed a younger Cotto by KO, while Floyd had a very tough night with an older Cotto. Manny destroyed older versions of Mosley and De La Hoya --actually Mosley ran scared, away from Manny all fight, after being knocked down--, where Floyd did struggle with both fighters, specially with De La Hoya, but that doesn't count much because those were not their prime versions. Neither Manny nor Floyd did fight a prime De La Foya, Mosley or Cotto. So it's too difficult to predict anything but still, I believe Pacquiao would have defeated Floyd, when they both were in their primes and sadly we will never be able to know who WAS the best of the two, since they both are past their primes, but Manny is doing even worse now because that KO vs. Marquez HAS TO have produced some very serious mental, physical and confidence negative sequels on Pacquiao, and he will never be the same for sure, notwithstanding the natural aging factor, where he is nowhere the same in hand speed, reflexes and, most notably, foot work, as he was in those years where he looked incredibly tireless, just like a little boxing machine with never-ending battery power.
