I always "defended" Floyd for the first Castillo fight... Not anymore...
What does last night have to do with the Castillo fight? It was so long ago and he avenged his performance and improved so much since then I feel the only people still holding on to that fight are the ones who (for some reason) feel so offended by Floyd's 0, Boxing is much bigger than Floyd's record.
I think he lost to Castillo in their first fight and last night's fight was a draw, because while it is true that Mayweather landed the cleaner face shots, he was pillow-fisted compared to Maidana, who really rocked Floyd when he was able to catch him clean, specially on the ropes. Just look at Maidana's and Floyd's faces after the fight: Maidana looked like he didn't even come to fight, while Mayweather did show signs of being hit hard a few times. Also Maidana was the aggressor all night and that's a point in his favor, they both threw cheap shots when they could, but AS USUAL, Mayweather initiated the clinches 99% of the time. He did his usual excessive clinching every time he was in danger of being hit hard by Maidana and, as usual, the referee protected him, never even warned him about his blatant clinching, which deserved deduction of points if judges were fair and not protective of the big $$$ boxing names.
Most boxing experts, even many Americans, agree that he lost to Castillo in their first fight. Compubox numbers overwhelmingly favor Castillo, both in quantity and accuracy percentage. Castillo was the champ and the aggressor during all their fight. So Floyd should really be 44-1-1 and if he had fought Pacquiao at his best, a few years ago, and Marquez in his natural weight division at that time (lightweight not a blown-up welterweight), then he would be 44-3-1.

Ummm this thread is about last nights fight, the castillo fight and the de la hoya fight as oscar claims floyd lost to all three hence why we are talkin about Castillo 1
Floyd should have also been DQ'ed vs Judah for interference by Roger, that's 4 losses. Dude is tricking the fans into believing he's undefeated. His whole career is a circus act, literally, he even proved it with his entrance last night.
Yup, it very well would have been a DQ. His undefeated record is a manufactured hot air balloon.
first of all mayweather bt de la hoya 8 rounds to 4 if that....
why do people actually think that was actually controversial i really don't know.
the castillo 1 fight was pretty dodgy IMO floyd beat castillo handily in the rematch but castillo won the first fight IMO
I had it 7-5 like last nights fight, but it wasnt controversial it was almost identical to last night in the sense that people get caught in the bullrushes and throwing 12 punches(while landing only 1 or 2) that they SEE that as being effective when the judges know better and arent easily swayed by that, and they also dont have to hear commentary which clearly influences peoples view of the fight.
