That's one of the downfalls of the scoring system. You can outclass a guy in five rounds. And be slightly edged in seven razor thin rounds and lose the fight. I've consistently scored the first fight a draw or 7-5 Floyd win. Conversely, people like to say Floyd erased all doubt in the second fight. I disagree. I've consistently scored the rematch the exact same way I scored the first one. 7-5 Floyd or a draw. The only difference being Castillo didn't have the dominant rounds like he had in the first fight.
Even if one estimates that Castillo only won a limited number of rounds (lets say five as you assume), then there is the concept that a judge can grant rounds 10-8 when some boxer is out landing heavily especially power punches (and there is no need to have a knock down to do it). Of course many judges don't do it and even less if it is against the favorite and/or local boxer.

I also agree that Floyd could have lost via DQ against Judah. Just remember what happened to Molina in his fight vs. Kirkland. It looked that it was an honest mistake of one in his corner who thought listening the bell and merely stepped in the ring getting him the DQ while the situation of the Mayweathers was clearly an intentional and total invasion of the ring. There are obviously protected fighters and Floyd has always enjoyed that benefit and only for that his legacy should be questionable.

    • This is coming from a weak man trying to turn over his company to toprank. More like De la Ho.

10-8 rounds are awarded for KDs and when a guy is basically destroyed in a round even without being dropped. In the 24 rounds Floyd and Castillo fought. IMO there was never anything even remotely close to a 10-8 round. Personally, I hate the 10 point must system. I really wish they could come up with a system that scores the fight as a whole instead of 12 individual fights.

As for Floyd-Judah. Should Floyd have been DQ'd? Yes. Had he been would it make a difference as far as his current and future all-time status in the sport? About as much as Toy Jones's "loss" to Montell Griffen. Which is pretty much none at all.

              • Well what would anyone expect coming from Fishnet Oscar. What is so funny is people keep referring to Castillo as a fight Floyd supposed to have lost. But the judge's saw things the other way just like they saw it against Fishnet Del La Hoya and Chino. But no one is bringing the scoring in the Canelo fight when it was obvious the kid was nowhere in the fight. Floyd IMO is in a no win situation regardless of the type of fight he's in. If he slugs it out people aren't satisfied. If he schools a fighter he criticized about the guy's experience being below Floyd's. Last night was a good tough fight but Chino like all the others sluggers was swinging that wild **** and miss with most of it. Garcia already said they were going to throw 5-6 punches just to land one which to me is ****** as hell. Chino lost, Castillo lost and Fishnet Dela Hoya so did your coke snorting zza. Sadly though is only Americans trade their loyalty of one of their own all because in America the onk y time cane considered great to them is when your skin color is not black....

                • I think Maidana did enough to win, and would've KOd the diva if not for his whiny fit over the gloves issue. Little whiner got his way or Marcos would've had just that little bit more oomph in the gloves to drop Floydie. As for the Oscar fight it could've went either way, but the 1st Castillo fight was indeed Floydie's first loss.

Now, let's get the rematch scheduled, only this time more moolah for Marcos, and no whining about the gloves.
