That's all legal, Floyd signed up for that. That should not be an excuse for self-preservation. Floyd wouldn't let Maidana use standard punchers gloves that were commission approved. No problem if that was in the contract, but it was not.

The point is the gloves were approved and Floyd being able to demand the opponent wear different gloves was not in the contract. Floyd is just trying to take attention away from his cheating prior to the fight. It won't happen, the world saw Floyd for the cheater he truly is.

Like I posted before. I think Team Maidana burned that bridge of trust. They tried to use illegal gloves you JACK ASS. I'm reading all of you posters getting on Floyd for not letting Maidana use his gloves but not getting on Maidana for trying to pull a fast one. That's why I don't take none of you guys seriously because everything is always one way. Floyd gets ridiculed for taking dude glove away because the first glove was not legit. It's Maidana's fault because if anything Garcia should have known better because he fought before and on top of that, you can tell Maidana plan was to rough Floyd up and hurt him bad for a win because of how he fought, so I'm more than sure that they tried to pull a Resto Margarito.

So, why did PBF made such an issue out of it?

Obviously, it was a huge concern on FMJ's mind. You took away an extra advantage from a known KO artist. What if Maidana was the A- side and made FMJ wear 3lbs shoes, so his @ss would stop running around the ring. Do you think Maidana would not have an advantage then?

Based on the scorecards Maidana owned the rounds where FMJ was on the ropes, and when FMJ decided to box he won those rounds. In theory, FMJ would resort to being on the ropes more often if he had to wear heavier shoes.

So, the other theory would be if Maidana got to choose to wear his puncher's gloves it would possibly wear the opponent down sooner, it raises the chances of the opponent sustaining an injury and a bigger chance for a KO.
