He looked old because he is OLD but despite being "OLDER" he is still skilled enough to find ways to win fights

Lucky for him this is a ***** ERA with a lot of overhyped fighters with minimal skills, he is in a ERA in which "HYPE" gets rewarded over actual SKILLS so because of the Skills GAP he has compared to everybody else, he will be able to squeeze out decisions down the stretch of his career

We will find out in the rematch if the 1st Fight was him showing AGE because many thought he looked "OLD" against Cotto then the Guerrero and Canelo fight when he got back to his Boxing everybody was wrong about him "LOOKING OLD AGAINST COTTO AND NO LONGER HAVING HIS LEGS"

Maybe, maybe not. Styles make fights. And then also WHO you are fighting makes fights too. I'm not sure Maidana will prepare as well and as hard and come into a fight with Devon again, the same way he did with Floyd. And with Pacquaio, I think he'll be different too because of Pacquaio's history of power. So I think he may be more respectful/fearful of Pacquaio's power.

And Roach won't allow for Pacquaio to stay on the ropes either. Pacquaio will be moving out of there.

People said the same thing after the Cotto fight floyd is done his legs are gone!!

Floyd fought the wrong fight from the start of the fight.

The rematch will be a lot different u'll see the old floyd from canelo and guerrero fight on his toes and box Maidana.

He is getting older no doubt... Still elite, but age is catching up...

The way he looked vs Maidana, now fights vs khan, Thurman, porter all got much more interesting

Yeah, it's going to be a fun ride these next three fights (if he finishes contract). I'm of the opinion that this final stretch will be huge for his legacy.

Of course he's aging, but last night fight had more to do with the styles than Floyd rapidly on the decline. He's rapidly slowing down without a doubt, but there are just certain infighting pressure styles that he has problems and had the same problems with when he was in his best physical prime years as well. Put him in there against any other fighter who will keep the fight on the outside and fight clean, and Floyd would win a 9-3 or 10-2 type fight and barely break a sweat.

He has no real consistent adjustments against fighters who can trap/bully him against the ropes and use every bit of their weight advantage to push and smother him on the inside the way Maidana did last night as well as, Oscar, Cotto, Castillo, Hatton did as well.

Floyd was very accurate and although a bit slower, his reflexes are still intact.

Floyd's mindset is what wins fights regardless of how old he looks.

And against a 30 year old, who outweighed him by 20lbs, was in better condition than his last fight, and had a rough and tumble game plan, Floyd did enough to win and unify the titles.

                  .

Porter has a really great chance of beating Floyd now. I'd say he has more chance than Thurman because Thurman doesn't apply that type of out-muscle infighting pressure that Maidana applied and Porter does apply that same type of pressure as Maidana does.

If they do have a rematch, Floyd should come in bigger on fight night. Otherwise, Maidana will use his weight advantage to out-muscle him again.
