Whilst shocking you need to bare in mind the guy is kicking on 40, hes no spring chicken.

He has clearly lost a step or two as expected.

Not even Floyd can beat father time

I'm pretty sure most people would place LaMotta a little bit ahead of Maidana on their list of ATG fighters.

I know there have been a handful of people on these boards who have recognized this -- dan_cov included -- but Floyd's physical skills have depreciated over the past several years. Obviously. He's 37. But there have been many more who claimed that Mayweather was as sharp as ever in his past several fights; I'm sure a lot of these folks are going to start relying on the "Oh oh oh, he's almost 40" defense. I'm not saying it's not true, but it didn't just happen tonight.

The alarming thing to consider is what a beating like this will do to him going forward. I'm not saying Floyd lost, but Maidana extracted a toll tonight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd look a lot older in September.
