gloves are in the custody of the commission. they keep a chain of custody to prevent stuff like this. the fighters pick them out and sign them, then they go back to the comission until they get to the dressing room.

on the night of the fight, resto was caught for having padding removed from the knuckle part of the glove. you can see in the video when collins SR grabs his hand after the fight and says "there's no padding in the damn glove."
