I still haven't quite got how he has managed to drive such strong emotions with his words, that is normally something only people who can communicate at a high level can do especially with regularity.
I could be missing it (the money I've personally put in his pocket was earned by excellence in his chosen profession which is a sport that I happen to enjoy as a spectator), but I think that a lot of his fans want to identify with him on a more personal level and that he represents to them ascendance over perceived obstacles they identify (correctly or not) as depriving them of material success.

Combined with the his personal story and the optics he employs, his illiteracy makes him easier to identify with.

One concept that I see him pushing recently (the last few years?) is that his success is not attributable to the talent native to him as much as it is to his work ethic. This is awesome imo and I hope that he keeps it up.

Indeed it makes it easier for me to identify with him.

The records also show that Mayweather received a variety of mail while imprisoned, from fans, lawyers and known criminals.
          So Broner, Dwyer and Larryx...

Criminal justice, drama and psychology are just a few of the majors with some of the the weakest job prospects.

The 10 Worst Majors for Finding a Good Job

                1. Business administration / management. This is one of the most popular majors, which has produced a glut of grads with business degrees at a time when big companies are reluctant to hire. “A lot of students have the idea that if they just major in business, they’ll be a successful Wall Street banker,” says Bardaro. “Unfortunately, the number of jobs available in that sector is very, very small.” One way to distinguish yourself: Develop a concentration in quantitative courses such as statistics or finance.
                2. Criminal Justice
                3. Drama/Theater
                4. Anthropology
                5. ******* Arts
                6. History
                7. Psychology
                8. Biology
                9. English
                10. Economics
Almost all of my professors have told me this, so it's ingrained in my brain. Most "Worst jobs" lists have business admin/man. and crim. justice as the two most popular and worst degrees. Prof's would advise if you're gonna get into business, major in accounting or finance. Other good degrees are of course electrical engineering and various other engineering degrees, also IT(Information technology) is a great field and it is growing quickly, nursing, etc.

Props for making a ****ty degree work for you, it speaks more about you than the degree.
