You can't hold the guy's talent against him. You should hold him to the same standard you hold every other top fighter to.

Ring, Espn, and Boxrec all have their opinions of where Maidana ranks but they all agree he is a top guy at welter and one of the four belt holders. Fighting a top guy at your division, especially a champion, can not be considered a cherry pick.

I don't get why people mention the Broner fight as a reason for his lack of power, if he does that to Floyd twice as in 2 Kd's he could even win on points.

broner could have been stopped in that fight anyway, ref gave him a slow count on the first (and that dance he did when he got up was a stoppable offence in some ref's opinion) and in the 2nd Maidana spoiled it by giving broner a 3 min rest period after the headbutt. Its not like he didn't hurt Broner.
