What lie did he get caught up in exactly? He felt he was underpaid since gamboa was going to receive 50% more and that didnt make sense. So he wanted more money, with a 50-50 split. They said only if he signs a new contract.Comment

So basically Mikey is ducking Gamboa
Alot of people on NSB suspected that to be the case when this was first reported and it turned out to be 100% trueComment

I have no clue why ~$3 mil would be offered for this fightComment

The lawsuit alleges that Garcia's contract "improperly provides Top Rank the ability to extend the agreement indefinitely, essentially rendering the fighter an indentured servant to Top Rank."
Many of you might not remember here, but wasn't this the exact same thing Floyd was saying when he left Top Rank? That he was essentially being treated like a slave by Top Rank and HBO?Comment

Mickey was wrong for that one.
If you turn down a fight because you are unhappy with the split, dont blame your opponent and make it sound like he is the one pricing himself out.
MICKEY IS THE ONE WHO TURNED DOWN THE FIGHT !!!
Mickey must be living good if he can afford to sit on the shelf and turn down career paydays over personal pride.Comment

"If he's getting 1.5 then I should be getting at least that much or more. I think I'm worth more than Gamboa at this point."
So he's admitting that he lied about Gamboa pricing himself out. When in actuality he (Mikey) is the one pricing himself out. Yup, what we all knew already.

That is what he does though. He asks for big money and sits hoping for it, then fights once a year because he needs to bring some money in. Didn't he sit out of Rios because of money? Dude could've won that fight tooComment
