If you turn down a fight because you are unhappy with the split, dont blame your opponent and make it sound like he is the one pricing himself out.

He wanted a 50-50 split. But lets be frank, how can they offer Gamboa 50% more than Mikey? That makes no sense. Sounds like he was made an offer he would refuse

at people thinking Arum and Top Rank are going to get out negotiated by $500K, when it's their date, Garcia is HBO's house fighter, and other factors that give them an immense amount of leverage over Gamboa's team. Either:

1) Garcia has been misinformed on the amount Gamboa was to receive, or;

2) Garcia is correct and Top Rank was going to shave more than their fair share off of the top (to the tune of $500K to $1M)

If these fighter really think they're that good it's not hard to make the $$$. How much did Mikey think PAC was making when he fight Barerra, Marquez, and Morales . However, according to Mickey himself, Top Rank refused to get him that better deal unless he resigned with them long term.

So that really has nothing to do with Gamboa and his team.

That is what he does though. He asks for big money and sits hoping for it, then fights once a year because he needs to bring some money in. Didn't he sit out of Rios because of money? Dude could've won that fight too

As far as I know it wasn't cause of money. It was cause Top Rank wanted to trap him with extensions and clauses. That's the last thing I heard anyway.

What lie did he get caught up in exactly? He felt he was underpaid since gamboa was going to receive 50% more and that didnt make sense. So he wanted more money, with a 50-50 split. They said only if he signs a new contract.

He said Gamboa was pricing himself. Which wasn't true.

GAMBOA SIMPLY ACCEPTED WHAT HE WAS OFFERED.

That isn't exactly pricing yourself out is it? Now if Gamboa was offered 500k and then asked for more, THATS pricing himself out.

Then one who priced himself out was Garcia. And lets be honest here, he wasn't getting paid chump change either. Was he?

If you read lower, it said that Gamboa and his team were unwilling to come down so arum called off the fight. TR cant offer him a better deal if the other side doesnt budge
