HBO absolutely has to pay to re-air the fight. TR owns the rights.

Speaking of Top Rank rights, there was an interesting article on SI abou their video vault...

History of boxing takes shape in unique Las Vegas vault

"Those tapes number over 10,000, date back to 1970 and contain, by conservative estimate, at least 25,000 fights."

"All told, Tang says he has converted 3,000 to 4,000 hours of footage. He did 1,000 hours last year alone. He's not even halfway done."

He pulled in those number fighting Shumenov, I can't be alone in not having known who the fk dude was before he got this fight...so I think those numbers ain't bad but it raises questions as to what's going to happen with the GBP/Showtime business if their non-ppv events aren't doing well. I'm absolutely sure espinoza and company will get a bump later this year with Hopkins vs Adonis but to be safe slap a nice undercard without quillin unless they are gonna get him to step up his competition.

Common mate. Do you really believe any company, especially in boxing would be able to stay in business for 14 years while losing money?

If Golden Boy was losing money they would go the way of Square Ring promotions, Vargas Promotions, Calzaghe Promotions, .........

When both HBO and Showtime have a broadcast on the same night the numbers aren't good for either network.

The boxing audience always seems to get split.

there was zero buildup for the Bhop fight since every one was talking about Pac-Bradley 2

This weekends fights with Thurman and Matthysse are gonna be bad as well since no ones talking about it

the novelty of Hopkins age has worn off. Hopkins has never been a huge draw and his fight have never been considered fan friendly.

with Hopkins it's always about who he was fighting. it was Tito's fans, Pavlik or de la hoya's. Hopkins appeal is only with the hardcore. so when he fight a guy like Bebuit nobody is going to give 2 Fs about it.

the Quillin fight was lack luster and just an appearance fight

Porter's win was the only "exciting" moment of the entire night.

nothing about that card appealed to your average boxing fan. so the low ratings aren't a surprise.
