Showtime and HBO are subscription channels

They don't care about ratings is all about PPV and subscriptions, if they are not building PPV attractions they are wasting money. I remember Berto getting paid seven figures fighting TBA type of fighters in empty venues. Floyd is keeping Showtime/GBP afloat they loose money with all these other fighters. A boxer's pay should be relative to the money they bring to the table. Enough of this money worshiping, like you get a check every time you watch a fight, you are the one paying them, and all you are getting are overhyped showcase fights.

oh boy......guy, networks dont really like PPV, they tolerate it. promoters/cable carriers make the money on a PPV, not networks. networks would rather buy fights and air them.

So they had 890,000 viewers on the undercard but dropped to 600K for the main event? That's not good.

Shows that either people were bored with Hopkins (it wasn't a good first couple of rounds) or they weren't interested in seeing what was advertised as a tune up before the Adonis Stevenson fight.

        Either way not good numbers.

What time was the Pac replay? What Showtime fight did the replay overlap?

So why do we have a Cold War? If they hate PPV, HBO should be happy that Showtime got Mayweather. GBP took Mayweather to Showtime after HBO chose Chavez/Martinez over Canelo/Lopez.

Okay, just checked and Pac fight started at 11 ET. Showtime card started at 9:30 ET, so assuming the first two fights took about an hour and a half, the Pac fight should have overlapped with the the Hopkins fight I think. (Can anyone confirm this?) That would explain why the Porter did high ratings compared to Hopkins and why both Hopkins and the Pac replay had unusually low ratings

Don't think it had anything to do with the NBA. Looks like normal numbers to me. Better than normal if anything actually. 900k for a Showtime undercard fight is amazing. And if it wasn't for the Pac replay, Hopkins would have probably done over a million.

For whatever reason, possibly because of the controversial first fight (gift decision in my opinion), there seems to have been a BIG lack of interest in Pacquaio vs. Bradley 2.

Take a look at the YouTube views for 24/7 Pacquaio vs. Bradley 2, Episode 1 -- it's only like 182K views, and it was posted 3 weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTUlSA6t5xs

Compare that to All Access: Mayweather vs. Maidana, Episode 1, which is already at 400K views, and was posted at midnight on Sunday, 3 days ago.

And i think this has everything to do with it. Throw in NHL playoffs as well and free UFC.
