Sounds to me like his contract is up and they are discussing extension, with the first fight being GGG.

Nope: the GGG fight was supposed to be the last under the present contract... The extension would have to follow... But it's very unlikely that even the last fight in the contract will happen...

I think Cotto had to ink a extension to get the Pac fight if I'm not mistaken....TR can't really afford to lose Jr....Adonis was singing a similiar song right before he inked up with Haymon.....I expect Chavez to be crossing the street where the big boys play at.....HBO and TR running a halfway house over there....damn shame

That's because he is just like Adonis Stevenson and just like Chavez Jr is doing. So they are going to jump to Showtime to avoid long term contracts? Isn't that exactly what ****ing Floyd did (6 fights worth) but now if HBO/Top Rank ask for the same thing they are the foul dirty mother ****ers? Did you idiots ever think THAT makes up for his PPV cut? Seriously, a fight on HBO with guys making 2 million NEVER makes money they LOSE money, every time. They make up the cahs on PPV in the long run, you think those 5,000 people or whatever showed up made a $2 million gate?

The facts are simpler: Adonius ran from HBO (he's in the GYM stable), and Jr. is running from TR... What those two fighters have in common? They had to fight the Russians killers... If the Russian killers were with Haymon ant Showtime, then Adonis and Jr. would have had to run "across the street", the other way... Get it?

This is why we need to support guys like Al Haymon. Top Rank is from that old school where the consensus is that Boxers are ****** and we therefore need to take their money before they spend it.

I wouldn't go that far but apparently that's his catch -- he takes his payment on the front end and that's that. Very enticing if you're a fighter.
