Richard Schaefer Endorses Mayweather vs. Porter

    Around the 6 minute mark:

Might be a little early but what do you think of Porter as the September opponent?

How are they going to work around the mandatory though?

Unless Porter beats Brook in July then fights Floyd in September? Sounds doubtful.

As for the fight, I'm all for it. Would love to see it.

He's Brook's mandatory, if he fights Floyd he'll be stripped.

If Porter beats Brook he should fight Thurman, winner of that fight would be a good fight for Floyd.

People were complaining about Khan because of his poor performance against Julio Diaz.

But I guess a guy who drew (arguably lost) against Diaz is ok because he beat a guy who Khan dismantled 4 years ago?

Anyway...I don't see Porter as being a big enough name yet to put him on PPV alongside Mayweather.

If he could fight and defeat Brook sooner than July or at least at the very beginning of the month I think Porter would try it given he doesn't catch an injury.

He really didn't take any damage against Paulie so he could get back in the ring quick if he wanted.

That could be a real good option for Floyd's last 3 fights. Porter has really impressed in his last 2 fights, and he might actually be strong enough to bully Floyd around in the clinch, which would be a big deal if he could.

He's probably the best option at the moment. Not saying much, but I'd rather see Porter over Khan or Garcia or anyone else at welterweight.

Unification would overrule the mandatory I would think.

They didn't necessarily say for September. He just said its a fight he would like to see as a fan.

I think the fight would be bigger if Porter gets one or two more big wins this year.

You can skip mandatory fights for unification fights, By doing this winner of Floyd/Porter must fight Brook tho
