I know he likes to defend himself by controlling the distance but he isn't effective enough at doing that for his flaw not to be exploited at the level he's about to step up to.
Porter has just ably demonstrated that he can surprise his opponent by slipping in and landing big shots. He will close that distance against Brook.
We allow too many of our fighters to carry fundamental flaws onto the world class stage because they've gotten away with them whilst they're developing.
If it isn't Porter that exploits that it's only a matter of time before an opponent does. Lesser opposition have tagged him plenty of times because of it but were unable to capitalise because they weren't at his level. He no longer has that privilege. Top class fighters will be looking to punish him for it.

For Brook to stand any chance he better punch with Porter, not that shelling up that he likes to do which leaves him more vulnerable.
He's slow in both hand and foot, his reflexes aren't fast, he's not very skilled.
Reminds of people saying James Degale is full of talent.
Porter will beat the hell out of Brook.

what's not getting talked about enough in the porter fight was his footspeed. who closes the gap on paulie like that?
hatton did, but he had very fast feet and closed the distance on everybody, even floyd mayweather.
porter is strong as an ox, can punch, but he also has athleticism. if his chin is strong, and he can stay at welterweight, he's going to be tough to beat.
