Wow. Do purse bids only take place when there are fighters of two different promotional companies going up against each other?

And I'm guessing GB signs the checks for both, right?

I truly appreciate your time and information bud.

To my knowledge, a purse bid happens when a champion and the mandatory fighter cannot come to an agreement. The sanctioning body then has a purse bid. The promoters bid and the highest bid wins. The boxers representatives then negotiate the split, venue, and tv like any other fight.

The bid purse split to the fighters is already set from the rules in place by the sanctioning body. This split is always based almost solely on the rankings of the fighters.

Hope that helps a little bit.

So if Mayweathee-Pacquiao would get agreed upon, it would go to purse bid? However, if TR wins... Floyd can't fight on SHO. What would happen then?

          Appreciate the help bro.

because they aren't working together. Think Vanes (Top Rank) vs Lara (GB).

So lomachencko is 1-1 but is fighting for a championship? Not to mention coming off of a loss.

Normally, if something like that were to happen, Floyd would be stripped his title, then Pacquiao would fight for that vacant title against the next highest ranked, available fighter.

Mr Russell will be fighting an amateur ,way too much speed for lomo ,if a slow Orlando can tag him ,what's he's going to do against someone with lighting speed. Again I say this kid will have less than ten fights before his career is over.
