Top Rank and GBP fighters fight again: Both bid in excess of 1 million

What if... Arum knew there was a mole. In fact, the mole works for Arum. He instructed the mole to tell Golden Boy he was betting a ridiculous large amount knowing that Golden Boy would do anything to one up Top Rank. This way Arum gets a ton of money for his own fighter for free, while Golden Boy is down a million bucks.

Maybe... because Loma is going to be making more in this fight than his past 2 and in no way are these guys even worth this much

1 million for just this fight.... it's a pretty big waste IMO.

Loma's been on HBO twice already, once on PPV... but only 2 fights in. GR JR.... dude has fought on ESPN against TBA his whole career. They need to put this with other good fights

Still gotta build an undercard around it and 1 million is already going to these guys

Their featherweights like Mares and Santa Cruz next year are stranded because Top Rank has all of the belts. Mares almost had to go all the way up to 130 just for a title shot.

lol.....seems like Bob setup GBP . No WAY this fight is worth a million! Not even GGG fights are even that much moeny and hes a bigger draw than both these guys combine.

I remember a few weeks a back when ask about purse bid for this fight Richard saying something like "we'll see whos pocket is deeper for the bid" .... This just prove that GBP will do anything to beat TR even if it means overpaying.

I agree it is kind of an insane amount to bid, I guess GBP and Showtime aren't hurting for cash if they are throwing money around like that.

It would almost be best to put it on Canelo-Lara, costly but that may help them cover the costs better

They'll definitely take a loss. I don't know why they are putting a fight between a guy from DC and a guy from the Ukraine in LA unless Mares or somebody is fighting on that date too.

They might be trying to build up a Mares vs Russell Jr. fight later this year.
