Do you think Bob is gonna let Loma fight Russell Jr. on a Golden Boy card?

Does this mean they will work together?

I mean, I HATE this fight (love both guys, but this is the textbook definition of a fight that needs to marinate) but I'll happily go along with it if it means a thawing in a relationship between the two companies.

I mean, this Cold War **** needs to stop. It's gonna tear the sport apart.

Perfect fight for them to start doing business together. Take it to ESPN. Other wise I doubt it happens.

If it continues like this, Top Rank will be ruined in months... maybe sooner...

they probably use very similar systems of determining the value of these fighters at present in their careers.

that said, $2500 dollars is extremely close. i smell a rat.

how cheap must these guys be to cut it that close? richard shchaeffer probably drops $2500 when he takes a bigtime client out to dinner.

GBP will promote, TR will give Loma a TR rep

Neither of them are near that point in their career

If we are going to wildly speculate my guess is that the mole is DeBouf and he is giving GBP this fight as a sign of good faith as Arum takes a diminished role within the organization.

I find it impossible to believe HBO/Showtime purses are based on any consistent and coherent system of valuation. The purses I see coming out of networks never seem to be based on reality. And especially on a fight like this where the values of the fighters are highly speculative and unknown really, how can they possibly arrive at the same number?
