I would imagine a wider shoulder girdle with long limbs would allow greater leverage etc... just my opinion, legs probably play a part but they're overrated for punching power imo.
What about Bradley he looks like the Incredible Hulk. It has to do with bone density

Tyson, Pacman, Thurman, Maidana, Mathysse, Naseem and Stevens all have pretty strong legs.

power is generated from the back foot, but the delivery of the punch matters the most

Not necessarily... Maidana, Chico Corrales, and Tito Trinidad don't have the wide shoulders you describe and all are/were terrifying punchers.

                strength =/= power....
could you explain how bone density affects punching power? (i dont see how it affects it positively, considering that boxing is weight dependent)

for those who say legs contribute most to punching power, my opinion is:
                1. YES it does contribute to power.
                2. NO its not the most important.
                3. ROTATION is what gives power.
                4. LEGS give support/ground your punches.
                5. LEGS do help with ROTATION but not as much.
                6. UPPER BODY contribute to more rotation than legs.
                finally
                7. WIDE SHOULDER GIRDLE = more torque, which ultimately leads to more POWER (keeping ALL ELSE EQUAL [to a certain degree of equality...]).

in conclusion: wide shoulder girth = more power. legs for power is overrated.

THIS IS MY OPINION, please do argue against me, im new to boxing, there's a lot i need to learn. just throwing my logic out there.

Power comes from the co-ordination of your whole body acting and moving it's mass and accelerating your fist into an opponents face with as much thrust as it can generate. Technique & nature makes up for most of it.

Matthysse is a good example..small little dude.
Strength doesn't necessarily mean punching power. Bradley is a strong little midget but hits like a girl. His body just isn't naturally built to allow him to put weight behind them slaps.

The punch begins from the foot - the grounding point which allows the punching force to be generated. It's physics yo.
