Punching power comes from having a wide shoulder girdle

With relatively long limbs imo. If you look at all the big punchers you'll notice this, duran, RJJ, Broner, Pac, ODLH had a crazy wide back.

I would imagine a wider shoulder girdle with long limbs would allow greater leverage etc... just my opinion, legs probably play a part but they're overrated for punching power imo.

Steve Cunningham should have more punching power then. Floyd's shoulders are huge too.

its part of it but there are many more factors involved.

like wide hips, strong core, strong legs, balance etc. of course technique is more important than anything.

but thats just scratching the surface, a correct punch is thrown not only using damn near your whole body from the neck down but doing so with perfect coordination.

for something that seems so easy its quite complex.

That's why ariza has his fighters swing the bat. You can clearly see maidana has the strongest swing/power when he hits the heavy bag with it out of anybody in that gym. It comes natural to him.

discovery channel put an end to the query of how a punch can generate such power to KO another person.

                from the lower extremities.

Tommy Hearns. Dude was skinny as hell but could crack. Ask Duran.

They are, along with speed is power, those are the first two BS quotes i've heard in a boxing gym.
