  • Mayweather has never fought a REAL Welterweight

What I HATE about the current Welterweight division is that all of the fighters there are just guys who moved up from lower weight classes, won their titles from other small guys who moved

None of them have ever had to face a Tommy Hearns and Floyd was even to scared to step into the ring with Margarito, Sergio Martinex got blackballed at Welterweight
Hell, Paul Williams could have crushed Oscar, Pacman and Floyd if given the chance

It's just a ridiculous situation, lightweights have monopolized the Welterweight division forcing the real Welterweight to move up

If Floyd isn't going to fight real Welterweights why not just stay down at Lightweight or something? oh wait, that's right, "Welterweight" is just so much more marketable

And how about winning titles in multiple weight classes?

Yuri Foreman got handed the title at 154
Cotto (A light Welterweight) was able to take it off him, obviously
Mayweather beats the 140 fighter, yet is somehow a champion at 154?

I could imagine Hearns just 12-0 the little fraud

How do you define a real welterweight? By whether or not they have been in that division from day one? I mean then Carlos Baldomir would fit that bill. I'm not sure that's proof of anything.

That is true, but please just stop. Too many Floyd and Manny threads even I'm getting sick, and that says a lot.

A lot of "real welterweights" moved up from lower divisions. This is nothing new.

Whitaker, Delahoya, Mosley, Trinidad, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Duran, Napoles, Benitez, Armstrong etc. all moved up from lower weights, to campaign at welter

This is about the dumbest thread EVER. Boldomir, Mosley and de la Hoya all qualify as REAL welterweights...

Shane Mosley was a real WW. He also beat a real WW in Margarito.

Also, Mayweather has moved up multiple divisions so I don't see your point in criticizing him for fighting guys who have moved up as well.

              No, by size

Hearns is my ideal REAL Welterweight

and a great Welterweight fighter is anyone who could beat him

Pacman has had a bit of an easy road too, just Floyd is more relevant atm

Duran wasn't a Welterweight, that's why his win over SRL is so impressive

and again, how many wins against real Welterweights do the rest of those guys have?

Beating a LW who moved up to WW is not the same as beating a true WW

Mosely and Del La Hoya were past it by that point

When you say size what do you mean? Height? Weight?
