I'd advise maidana to try for the exact opposite. He better swarm mayweather and pour it on for as long as he can. Anything past round 5 goes toward a Mayweather UD.

marcos is saying he is preparing himself for 12 rounds, and he won't despair looking for a KO, if it comes it comes. he is right about broner, everybody was saying he needed a KO to win (me included), otherwise broner was going to take the fight and he proves us wrong.

        obviously floyd is no broner

          Maidana Will Shock The World

Floyd doesn't hit hard enough nor will he stand in there and fight to hurt anyone. Maidana will walk right thru anything he throws and really hurt Floyd in this fight. Floyd will play to run and pot shot and hold and clinch, but at some point he'll get caught and we all know Floyd does not take a good punch.

Maidana only has one chance to win this fight: he needs to fight like he did against Broner rounds 1 and 2 for the entire 12 rounds. I doubt he can do that. Maidana should be studying both Jose Luis Castillo fights, the De La Hoya fight, and the Cotto fight. The key is there. You must pressure Mayweather with body shots and try to force him on the ropes as much as possible.

I'm starting to change my mind about Maidana...I think he has improved since the Alexander fight..in fact, I'd like to see that rematch as long as Maidana doesn't get shut out by Mayweather.

It's not his best shot...it's his only shot. Think Broner fight rounds 1 and 2...that's his only shot to win...he has to fight like that all night. Maidana should be working on aggression and conditioning this fight. I'm a little concerned about Maidana's conditioning as the fight goes on..I wasn't happy with the way he looked at the 30 day weigh-in.

If Gurrero was able to win some of the early rounds on the official cards Maidana should be able to do the same. Then you throw in a knock down or 2 and this becomes a close fight. It's not as unfathomable as people are making it sound on here.

He might not need a knockout and it is never good to go in searching for a knockout better to let it come, I would say he probably does need a couple knockdowns though if he wants the card to go his way.
