Comments Thread For: Maidana: I Don’t Need the KO to Beat Floyd Mayweather

Though some might believe that there’s no way that Marcos Maidana can defeat Floyd Mayweather by decision on May 3 — that he would need to hurt Mayweather and finish him off — that’s not what Maidana believes.

“With Broner, everybody thought I had to knock him out, and I [won] by decision,” Maidana said on a media conference call on April 16, as translated by his trainer, Robert Garcia.

    I disagree.

I think Marcos will need to KO Floyd to win. Floyd won't give up rounds like Adrien did.

You will need for hell to freeze over and for pigs to fly.

He doesn't need the KO. He needs Manny's mom rootin' for him.

That cross-eyed judge who had the May-Canelo fight even will be a huge help as well.

Unless he drops him 2 or 3 times, Maidana will need the KO as Floyd will steal enough rounds on the cards i feel. Glad Maidana is feeling this way though, its the right attitude to have to try and "beat him up" every round, round by round. Every round is important.

If he drops him 3 times, in 3 different rounds, he'll win. Other than that, he needs a KO!
