Top Rank improperly acted as Garcia's boxing "manager" because it represented Garcia's interests in procuring and/or arranging and directed or controlled his boxing activities.........by engaging in the following activities: i) arranging Garcia's bouts ii) selecting "in its discretion" the date of his bouts, iii) selecting in its discretion the site of each bout, iv) determining the financial arrangements of Garcia's bouts, v) receiving or being entitled to receiving more than ten (10%) of Garcia's gross purse as a professional boxer and vi) selecting Garcia's opponents.

Don't all promoters do this? If Garcia wins this case I think it would be great for boxing.

I doubt Steve Kim often but he has been close with Top Rank for a long ass time, so I don't doubt that he saw it coming. He values his Top Rank insiderness so he might have just kept his trap shut as the time wasn't right for the info to get leaked.

Strange move from Mikey. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Kim suggesting that a suit of this nature was inevitable given the content of the Ali Act? Or is he saying something else? If he saw it coming a mile away I don't recall him writing any articles about it.
