135 is too much, I could see 140 happening but I wonder if it would effect him late in the fight.

        Yeah great evidence.
Delahoya had just fought Steve Forbes at WW prior to facing Pac.

He fought him at a catch weight of 150, I think. That's Jr Middleweight

Edit: Just googled it and it was 150, but De La Hoya was over by half a pound on his first attempt. He eventually made weight though

Your correct, as oscar looked very bad in that fight.. Should have just stayed at 154.. He performed very well there but any lower and he looked shot

No he couldn't even make 150 for that fight.

The point is that Pacquaio regularly comes in below the welterweight limit. It's not like he's constantly ***ing up the way Oscar did that one time.

Yes your right. My mistake. I recall them saying that he was fighting Stevie to get acclimated to the lower weight for a fight with pac at 147. By the way which was a weight that oscar called Pac out at.

Surprised no one mentioned that during training Manny has to maintain a very high calorie diet/intake just to maintain or keep weight on. If he is coming in at 143-145, it looks to be as simple as a diet adjustment or change.

140 would be the min, IMO.

Yeah, with hindsight it was a horrible move by De La Hoya. People forget how at the time it was supposedly a cherry pick. No one thought Pacquiao stood a chance.

De La Hoya obviously killed himself to make weight. I don't know what he did to get down to 147 but he looked like a zombie on fight night
