The dilemma that Team Marcos have on their hands is deciding whether to come at Floyd like a bull in China shop with wild, winging punches and making it dirty, or strategizing to make Floyd think Marcos will just brawl when he'll actually box more.

Either way, I sense Marcos will be packing heat on May 3rd and it may not pretty.

On of the greatest myths is that Maidana is reckless and wild, when in fact his punches are timed well, accurate, and methodical.

Please....... We saw how that worked for Guerrero and Canelo.

          On topic now...

Maidana has clearly improved. I laugh at people who say otherwise. He feints now, uses his jab consistently, doesn't smother his punches, takes a step back to avoid the clinch. He has Ariza behind him in his first full camp.

Maidana is a clearly better fighter. Will he win?? I doubt it. Nothing on him, as he's one of my top 3 favorite fighters, but Floyd is on another level. I think he gives him a hell of a time though, and has at least a "good" chance at beating any other WW. If Maidana does somehow pull it off, I will rub it in as if I knew it all along.

Some of us have been watching him since day one and we have seen him evolve, and become a solid boxer with good defense, a good jab, and a higher ring IQ. Maidana can close the distance on fighters and cut off the ring, and is unpredictable with his unorthodox punches and will take Floyd to deep waters and prove so many of you wrong!
Maidana got schooled by Devon Alexander...

People act like he has improved since then with trainer Garcia, but in reality we have no idea.. Chino has fought sotokarass broner, and Lopez, not exactly the best test sample to see if Maidana has improved vs movers/boxers...

I agree he is more skilled then given credit for, but let's not act like he is some great puncher/boxer like cotto, Tito, jcc

Maybe had he fought Pauli, Danny, Devon rematch, we would have a better understanding of his skill level improvement, but based on his recent competition, I think the jury is still out... Floyd is nothing like broner, Lopez, etc

He basically got off of his couch to fight Devon. Dude was FAT. Cant believe people fail to see that, and account for it.

I sat ringside for the fight,, Devon owned him,,, you can make excuses all u want to as why...

My point being, since that fight he hasn't fought another mover/boxer, but people act like he has improved greatly when the old Maidana pre-Garcia would have beaten up karass, broner, Lopez., so I think it's really hard to declare as fact that the guy has improved when he hasn't faced the style that Devon used to beat him, has been matched up with guys that come forward and lack defense, and hasn't fought anyone since Devon that acts like a true mover/boxer..

Maidana for sure has changed some things up, but that doesn't mean he has improved a whole lot....
2009 version of Maidana would beat Lopez, broner, just like he did with the present day version...
Just very hard to tell if he has improved, when the fighters he is fighting are guys he would have beaten anyways before this alleged "improvement"

Its not an excuse its a bona fide fact. What does you sitting ringside have to do with it? Maidana was fat. Even if you dont give him credit for stylistic tweaks, His conditioning and prep has improved miles and miles since before he started training at Oxnard. Dont believe me just watch

on pace to be shredded for May 3rd.
