Comments Thread For: Ellerbe: Maidana, The Hardest Puncher of Floyd's Career

Mayweather Promotions CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, is tabbing Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31KOs) as the hardest puncher of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s career. Mayweather (45-0, 26KOs) will face Maidana in a WBC/WBA welterweight unification on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The fight has taken some public heat, because Maidana is viewed as a significant underdog in the fight. Ellerbe views Maidana as a very dangerous opponent with deadly power.

I definitely think he's the hardest puncher.
Now can he land just one punch clean on Mayweather is what we're all wanting to find out.

Chico, Mosley, Oscar, and Alvarez all had more power at the weights Floyd fought them at than Maidana has as a WW

Doesn't even enter the top 5 in that regard, DLH, Cotto, Canelo, Corrales and Mosley were all bigger punchers.

A boring sparring session coming up on May 3rd with Floyd throwing 1 or 2 punches at a time and not engaging. Cant wait

Pac/Bradley 2 should have reminded everyone how much better Pac and Mayweather are than all these guys. And Mayweather isn't near as far gone as Pac is.
