Expectations are high, and since Top Rank isn't delivering time and time again is going hurt they brand. Now they going be branded as a low quality event with only one fight worth watching even when they do put on good fights cause they hurt their own rep. Top Rank needs to up their lead in bout, then the rest of the card would be fine and fall in place, a Mikey Garcia bout would be perfect lead in bout. Top Rank does have the fighters to put on good cards, they just don't do it.
top rank and golden boy do the same thing. to think one promotional outfit is so above and more righteous than the other is downright incorrect and dishonest.

I thought they did a great job last night. Max usually keeps it real. Lamps get too excited some times where the fighter throws a combination and only lands one solid punch and Lamps is having an ****** Lol. While Max will give credit to the other fighter for blocking and dodging the punches. And will call out only one of those punches landed Jim and will call out the other fighter came back with a nice counter body shot. Roy Jones is biased a lot in fights but he did a great job last night but he usually pisses me off from time to time. He was so biased on the Bradley vs Provonikov fight that s**t was ridiculous even though I had Bradley winning that fight by a point but still. I like the HBO crew it was cool to see all three on them on the same page last night.

The Top Rank broadcast was pretty bad I thought. Merchant, who I used to love is so far gone and biased towards Pac that I nearly muted it myself.

          come on dude.
Well, I KNOW why I bought the Floyd Canelo fight. I decided when I saw Garcia-Lucas. It wasn't because of what you said.

But, to be fair, most fans do buy according to their nationalist allegiances which always comes down to the main card. Not me, though. My favorite boxers are RiGod and JMM.

I am guessing that if you're white, you only buy American boxers. Or if you're black, do you only buy black boxers?

Not me. Don't assume every Mexican or whatever does that.

So, I'll agree with the general point, but that's mostly for casuals. Fans like me are more discerning.

It was typical HBO, too much 'talking' and not enough commentating on the actual fight. What I mean by that is they love to talk about previous fights and all manner of things rather than commentating on exactly what is happening in the ring. They go into every fight with a 'story' and then just talk in various ways about that story during the fight. In the first Pacquiao-Bradley fight all the focus was on how brilliant Pacquiao was, this time it was about how Bradley was looking in light of the first fight and his previous fights etc. Sometimes I think Lampley doesn't actually watch the fight but is looking and talking to Jones and Kellerman and then only decides who won the round after he has looked at compubox at the end of each round.

Thought they were biased. Lampley didn't have Mannys d!ck in his mouth like the first fight but he was definitely stroking the balls. Lampley was still hesitant to give Bradley any rounds I think he gave him 1 or 2.

It wasn't as bad as the first fight which was sickening but you could tell who the house fighter was.

Oh ****, AC Slater and Larry Merchant were commentating? I gotta look for a copy of that. That's my dream team.

I agree with Bob Arum on this, the main event is not even competitive. The fight is gonna end up like the Mayweather Vs Canelo fight. Maidana might have power but he doesn't have that hand speed that Canelo possesses, he'll be swinging & missing all night long. I would have preferred Mayweather Vs Khan, Khan's got very good hand speed & good foot work. The Khan fight would have been a VERY competitive fight.

I think the Broner Vs Molina fight is decent as the under card fight because we all want to know how good/bad Broner looks after he took that vicious beating from Maidana. Broner isn't all that he says, but he's still relevant in the sport. Same goes for Khan, hes an exciting fighter with real good hand speed + combo punching ability. I don't mind watching Khan in the under card bouts against Collazo who we all remember gave Berto hell.

If you compare all of the above under card bouts with what Top Rank put up in the PacVsBradley under card, I think Golden Boy wins. Most people probably did not even know the guy who were fighting in the Top Rank under card. We all know the guys on the Golden Boy under card.

The PacVsBradley main event is definitely better & more competitive than MayweatherVsMaidana.

I don't agree with Arum when he says that fans don't care about the under cards. It's true that majority of the fans buy the PPV for the main event (also reflected by the fact that most of the celebrities come in when the main even is about to start).

But if Arum puts up weak under cards, the fans wont care about those fights. On the other hand when Golden Boy put up great under cards like Matthysse Vs Danny, Khan Vs Collazo, Broner Vs Molina who wouldn't start to care? It's obvious that Golden Boy PPV's are a better value for money as compared to Top Rank ones.
Oh god did you just call Broner-Molina great? A guy with power dropping down to in weight to fight a blown up lightweight without any power who hasnt fought in a year and a half and was absolutely picked apart in that fight until his corner mercifully stopped it. Please, that fight is beyond terrible
