The 9 guys that vote in ESPN poll had Floyd unanimously 1, ward 2nd and Manny 3rd. Manny got 1 2nd place vote and 7 3rd place votes.

    Seems reasonable.

So Floyd may not be the best fighter in the world? Or would that opinion change if one of your home fighters were ranked higher?

Wlad's way too high, Rigondeaux is way too low, and Alvarez shouldn't be on it at all.

Pound-for-pound by definition is mythical because guys like Wladimir and Rigondeaux can't fight each other. We aren't talking in facts here.

              How is Wlad too high?

He is the most dominant champion in a single weight class in boxing.

GR too low? He's beat one good fighter who arguably is next to shot.

The fact is that the list exists and it's been a part of boxing for a long, long time. Experts opinions matter. It's what the sport has been about for over 100 years.

If it was strictly a who beat who for a ranking spot, then boxing rankings in themselves would be mythical as well seeing as how all fighters in a class have not faced all the other fighters in that class.

For instance: How was Floyd ever ranked over Manny at WW without ever having faced him or vice-versa?

Because he was in the division before him.
