Of course, one thing Timothy Bradley's signature on a Top Rank promotional contract means to boxing is the potential for a showdown with Manny Pacquiao. Arum addresses this fight's potential.

"Obviously, then, that would be our goal to build him. To build his name recognition so that we could make a fight happen between Tim Bradley and Manny Pacquiao."

If all goes right, Arum believes a Bradley-Pacquiao fight could happen in November of this year or early 2012, but heavy promotion would have to be done to build Bradley's name.
Considering Bradley wasn't the first or even second choice to fight Pacquiao in June 2012, it's not much a stretch to believe Arum was content to keep Bradley in his back pocket for the day when he didn't have anyone left for Pac to fight.

Not fighting Khan in 2011 because you might get a Pacquiao fight in late 2012 or sometime in 2013 is a duck.

      So?

How do you know they didn't tell him, "sign with us and we'll get you the Pacquiao fight within 2-3 fights for sure?"

Or that offers to others were skewed in such a way that all roads led to someone else?

      You don't.

Bradley made 7 times the amount against pac than he would have made with Khan..

Nothing wrong with a boxer going with the money and more dangerous opponent imo...

Anybody that actually thinks Bradley would be scared of Khan and then step up too Manny must be totally ******ed.
Bradley made a million for Casamayor and 5 million for Pacquaio.

He would have made in excess of $2m for Khan and probably in excess of $5m for Pacquaio, providing he beat Khan.

I'm sure even you can do those sums.

Of course, he didn't know if he could beat Khan.

It is a stretch, actually. That's my point. And he certainly wasn't fighting Khan after signing on with Top Rank.

The bottom line is, no one really knows what Arum told him during negotiation. We do know that Arum said he wanted that fight end of 2011 or 2012. We also know that he got the fight he wanted within a year. Those are the facts. Everything else is a guess.

bradley had a couple of months left on his contract with shaw and chose to sit idle until his contract expired instead of making a career high payday against khan during those months

I'm very sure he wasn't guaranteed anything resembling a pac fight back then as arum hadn't yet approached or signed him

He wasn't guaranteed the fight in his 2nd fight with TR which you shamelessly tried to infer.

You don't know what he was told. Bottom line.

False. Arum had approached him already.

This idea that Bradley is allowed to face Casamayor's of this world as long as he is "pursuing" a Pacquaio fight is absolutely hilarious and an example of New Age Ducking that is now justified by people like you.
He fought Casamayor on the undercard of Pac-Marquez 3. As a build up to his next fight, Bradley-Pacquiao.

That's how Arum works. What is it that you don't get?

Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself. Some of these guys have no idea what a "duck" really is.

Fighting a more dangerous for, for more money, is not it.
