So what exactly is the point of this thread ? Are we suppose to be complaining about the fight now? You talk about delusional fans yet you conveniently leave out the fact Lara made it so easy for Canelo to not have to fight him two years ago. Lara was busy fighting to a draw with Vanes instead of making a statement and being the clear number one contender and putting all the pressure on GB he gave them a way out. He was also out of the ring for like a year until he fought Trout and Angulo. When exactly was he suppose to fight him? Who's to say he shouldn't have fought Vanes instead? Neither guy won the fight.
Again delusional fanatics would argue he should have fought Lara when he was doing nothing impressive other than coming up short when it counted. He's made his statement in his past two fights and the boxing world took notice. Delusional fans would also think Canelo should have fought Lara instead of Trout who was coming off the best win of his career and at the time undefeated and regarded as the number one guy in his division. What's even more delusional is to think that after his biggest win he would fight a guy like Lara instead of the p4p king while even doing it at a disadvantage of a catch weight.
The way I see it people enjoy bashing other fighters so much they could care less if they get what they want as long as they have something to complain about.

Canelo fan here. The Lara fight always made sense to me for the future and was always one I was looking forward to once both guys had established themselves against more legit opposition.
It just took some time for the latter to happen.Comment

Yea it really only makes sense now, as it is pretty much to decide who is the man in the division. People get so hung up on wanting stuff right away, but sometimes it is better to wait and let things clear up because then you actually get a fight that really means something as opposed to just being a really good fight.Comment
