Ruining is when a fighter loses that weapon or speed. Cotto was known for that ridiculous piston like left, so fast and powerful. After the Pacquiao fight, it was basically gone. Significantly so, never the same fighter.

Khan still had the nasty speed after Maidana. It remains to be seen where Khan is at now, but if he was ruined it'd be Garcia, not Maidana. Probably just a combination of all the wars, but he was still putting on boxing clinics after Maidana. He saw all of Maidanas shots, which is why he never hit the canvas.

Maybe the man who conquered Maidana is the one who ruined Ortiz because he got knocked out in only 2 rounds in the amateurs by Amir Khan. Perhaps Ortiz was never the same fighter after facing Khan in the ams.
