It goes to decision I say. Chavez will be two weight classes higher and already has an iron steel chin.

If Chavez Jr's chin is made out of steel, Golovkin's fist is Doomsday.

Agree with what a lot are saying here... Chavez is maybe a step too far for GGG. He's basically a cruiser fighting a small MW.

Has GGG ever had to fight on the backfoot for long periods of time? Chavez will have to work on smothering GGGs attack and work on his letting his hands go a lot more on the inside. Chavez likes to fight on the inside but unlike his father, Jr tends to hesitate a lot. His chin allows him to willingly take unnecessary shots just to get off a couple of shots. Chavez has to make it a sloppy fight or else GGG will where him out in the last 3rd of the fight.

this isn't exactly a cakewalk fight for GGG
Chavez isn't great but he can fight and he's a bigger guy
people are expecting too much from GGG in this
even if he does win, don't think it won't be competitive
and it's hardly a given that GGG wins at all
this fight is more dangerous for him than people are thinking
GGG walks through anything. It is said for training, Golovkin uses trees as heavy bags, spars with Silverback Gorillas, with no headgear, and he is forced to use 18oz gloves, while the Gorillas use their bare fists. He jogs up to the top of Mt Everest with only a track suit, and comes back with 4-5 people on his back that he saved along the way.

              154-175 don't stand a chance.

Vera, who is really a JMW who kept going up in weight for money every time he was called up to be a stepping stone, beat Chavez Jr and had him on the run in the first fight, and JCC Jr having to "box" in the rematch, just to beat such a small fighter; imagine what GGG will do to Chavez Jr? Vera had JCC on the run in the ring, GGG will have JCC wanting to jump out of the ring like Cintron did against Williams.

Chavez is like Mayweather in the sense that he only takes fights that he KNOWS the other guy can't hurt him. He'll come in weighing 2 weight classes more than GGG. G can and should focus on out boxing him and try in the later rounds to take him out.

Agreed on Mayweather, dude just fights featherfisted fighters. His last 4 fights and his next fight have all been/will be against guys who can't really punch at 147-154. Maidana @ 147 is not the puncher he was at 140, he clearly lost a lot of power. Cotto is a JMW who has only knocked out shot to **** fighters like Margarito and Mayorga, one legged featherfist Yuri Foreman and ESPN level Delvin Rodriguez. Guerrero couldn't even punch at 135, at 147 he's slightly more powerful than Malignaggi. Mosley was almost on wheelchair due to age and still had Mayweather out on his feet and holding on for dear life. Ortiz can't take a punch even if his career depended on it.

Chavez Jr on the otherhand, credit should be given for fighting pretty strong guys like Martinez, Rubio, and against any other fighter not named GGG or JCC Jr, Andy Lee packs a punch.
