the Diaz shot wasnt devastating, khan was way off balance, you can clearly see he wasmt hurt like in the danny foght
his legs didnt turn to jelly, he got back up right away
That's not true, look at Khan's left leg. That shot did hurt him, not as bad as Danny's shots though but enough for him to not be able to plant his foot.
His natural speed will always be there, it is being confused and in 2 minds that will slow him down and make him hezitant if anything.Under Roach he was flawed but confident and his speed let him get away with a lot but he was also fighting smaller men where he had a height and reach advantage which really aided his style.
Cheers Issac Hunt, yeah I agree with a lot of what he was saying. The OP incase anyone was interested

I really like Amir Khan and his in out ambush style is really effective against shorter fighters where he has a reach advantage can jump in land his shots and jump out and out of range and then go again. Other than Prescott I can't seem to find a fight where he is fighting someone as tall or taller than him. Maidana is a bit shorter than him but most the guys seem quite a bit shorter.
Khan's infighting skills have not really improved under Roach and against taller guys and boxers his own size he may really need them.
Much has been written about what happened in the Prescott fight
To me it just seemed Prescott's height and reach presented a new situation which he was not used to and Khan looked a little out of sorts and confused as to what to do and got ****** out early before he got into his stride and work out a formula to deal with Prescott. Roach will provide a strategy for fighting taller guys and I don't see him being as out of sorts as in the Prescott fight but I don't feel his present style will be as effective against taller guys than shorter guys. Khan will be fighting bigger taller men at WW pretty soon. How do you see things panning out for him when he does?
FrankieBruno, I think the shot clearly hurt him, but that wasnt the issue i was looking at. I was trying to show how Khan struggles with range as he fell short with a jab and then got caught in no mans land. I actually was thinking of Diaz as a welterweight as well, but tbh hes not. More a blown up LW/ LWW. I think these situations will come up even more when he fights a genuine good sized WW with a longer reach like Collazo.

the shot did hurt him i am not saying otherwise, however he was off balance and trips over his own feet
he wasnt hurt like in the past, he got right back up, when khan is seriously hurt he does the infamous dance
he looked tired as hell so early in the fight, stamina issues, maybe too much upper body muscke mass
Khan will probably beat Collazo because Callazo is not very good but he is in the limelight for his KO of Ortiz. Khan is not very good these days and looked much better a few years ago. Khan has no chance to beat Mayweather in my opinion. He is not a big enough puncher to even have a puncher's chance like Maidana.
I actually liked Khan's performance vs Diaz minus the knockdown, which seems to be the only thing this forum saw in that fight. Khan picked his shots well and was calm instead of his usual "uhh ush ush ush" b.s.
Khan was born with that speed and it will always be there ofcourse with age it will diminish. Hunter is teaching him to be accurate and efficient with it.
