Bradley always brings it and Whitaker would of definitely shown off some skill against Bradley
      Bradley wouldn't win a round.

Who constantly cheats by ducking below the waist, to be fair it is not like Pea was a very popular fighter in his time, if the internet was around then the same stuff would get said then as now.

          True.

plus, whitaker mostly fought in the pocket and had a high workrate.

he had more one-punch knockouts to the head than dlh, trinidad, vitali (yes, look it up).

of course that doesn't mean he was a big puncher, he just had great timing in certain bouts that led to one shot kos

no, not really...he probably would have fought and beaten PAC and Floyd

the only people that would have a gripe with him are the racists who can only say 'well, he should move up and fight GGG then Ward'

Pernell would be #1 p4p, no doubt

Exactly. So many people hated him back then. It was ridiculous in spite of all his accomplishments.

The only really slick fighters that you don't see get a ton of flak are seemingly Ivan Calderon (because babbyweight) and Miguel Vasquez. Rigo, Floyd, Ward and even Paulie get ripped for it constantly. Wrestlers like Wlad, Molina and BHop get more praise than slick fighters seem to.

                  Ward is 'slick'?

                    Sweet Pea...........

This era is an easier era. Pea would be the pound for pound KING, today. He was so well-schooled, intelligent, had great hand-speed, foot-speed, work rate, AND he is the greatest defensive fighter ever. You couldn't even hit him with a jab on a consistent basis; let alone to the body. He beats every welterweight right now including Floyd. You can hit Floyd if you have a good jab. You can hit Floyd to the body. You can out think Floyd if you're a De La Hoya, or a SRL, or Sweet Pea. He would avoid no one because no one today is touching him. The end!

I'll say top 3 p4p, mainly because a prime Whitaker may not have the competition at lightweight to nab the top spot.
