Loser of B-Hop-Shuemenov? Then have that winner (say of Pascal-Shuemenov) fight Stevenson after he would fight the winner of that fight (B-Hop-Shuemenov).

Not a good plan for those that want to see Stevenson-Kovalev but I could see Showtime lining that up if they are serious about pushing Stevenson.

Well well well. I said that Pascal was a lucrative opponent but got criticized for it and now look.

I would wager to say that after beating Bute he is the biggest star in Canadian boxing at the moment, ahead of Stevenson.

Pascal ain't cheap though. Pascal is gonna want a million plus, I'm sure Duva would be willing to take a lower cut than those guys to wipe Pascal out. HBO would also be interested after those ratings against Agnew Saturday.

Well he was the highest paid Canadian star and had most of the biggest fights there.

Yeah, I agree. But if you suggest that Stevenson would probably make more money by fighting him than by fighting Kovalev people start crying. It's just the truth.

              .
Oh yea Pascal is getting paid no doubt and really HBO should be the ones that pay him as they are the ones that need his services.

Still I do think Showtime can make use of him and if they are heavily investing in Stevenson, they need to get some other light heavies.

Either way Pascal is in a very good spot and hit free agency at the absolute right time.

Well it's a big fight there and a definite PPV there.
The argument is cut/splits between fights.
Same as the Hopkins fight. Stevenson would most likely get most if not all the Canadian PPV and a bigger split against Kovalev compared to Pascal or Hopkins.

He serves the purpose of Stevenson fight, Dawson fight and one of their other LHW's.

I'm just thinking here that Showtime's budget is going to run out fast if they're throwing all this money around and what made the better last year was the multiple triple headers they put on.

I am interested to see how their budget goes, they are throwing around a lot of money now. I am happy to see them invest in the sport like that but it is a good question if they can keep spending like that.

The one thing I will say for Showtime is they are very close with CBS (they are the same company obviously, but HBO and Turner sports seem very off-set) and CBS understands the value of live sports (look at what they just spent for 8 more NFL games on Thursday), so I can see why they might place more value on it now.

If they increase their budget, then hopefully they'll put good fights on, like they did last year, and not just blow it on individual fighters.
They need to do what they did last year..... but I see them paying individuals large amounts of money for meh fights with the occasional good fight.

That is obviously the hope, actually the hope is to have the individuals but have them in solid (or better) fights but the cost of doing business that way is pricey it is hard to do that every time out.

They do have a lot of year left, hopefully they can step their game up again at least they still seem to be on the show 3 or 4 fights a go tip so even if they are mostly meh fights (or all meh fights like the April 26 card) in 3 or 4 fights something unlikely or interesting is much more possible than in just 1 or 2.
